Trace Town Council voted 4-1 Thursday evening to approve the final phase of the Depot Square improvement project. Work will focus on the south walk, two shade structures and stabilization of the freight doors on the former rail depot.

The project began in 2022 after repeated drainage problems damaged the square. Earlier phases replaced underground lines and reopened the public room inside the depot.

Construction will be scheduled around the Saturday produce market. No change to vendor access is expected.
