The Town of Trace is assisting state agriculture officials with a routine review of produce sold through roadside stands, temporary tables and small independent markets in the surrounding area.

Vendors should retain supplier invoices, bills of lading, packing labels and any documents used to identify the state or country of origin. Repacked produce must not be advertised using a geographic origin that differs from its supporting records.

Town market permits do not certify product origin. State personnel may contact individual vendors directly to request additional records or arrange an inspection.

This notice applies to commercial sellers. Residents exchanging or giving away produce grown on their own property are not required to submit records to Town Hall.
